Understanding the settings
Depending on the activity settings, the same activity can be presented in different formats and offer various options. This article outlines these options and their implications in alphabetical order.
Allow reset
This option allows you to reset and redo the activity. If enabled, once you have submitted the activity, you will see the 'Reset and try again' button.
Assess activity
The activity will be graded, and your score will appear in the 'Grades' section.
End date and time
A submission deadline is set for the activity. After this time, you won’t be able to contribute, but you can still view the activity and previous submissions.
Publish date and time
The activity becomes available on a specific date and time. You won’t be able to access it before then.
Shared submissions
If this option is enabled, you will be able to view all submissions from your mates.
If it is set up this way, you may need to submit your contribution before viewing your mates' submissions, wait until a minimum number of contributions have been made to access them or the number of responses you can submit can be restricted.
Additionally, all student contributions may remain hidden until a specific date and time. In this case, you will see an info panel like the following:
Unlock code
If your instructor has enabled this option in the activity settings, you must enter a code to access the activity.
Voting
If the 'Shared submission' option is enabled, it can also enable the voting option. In this case, you are allowed to vote on any submission except your own.
Your instructor may set a maximum number of votes you can assign to your mates' submissions or responses.
Word limit
This setting imposes a word limit on all input fields within the activity, ensuring that your submission does not exceed the defined maximum. When enabled, a word counter appears in the lower right corner of the text field, displaying the word count in blue. If the limit is reached, the counter turns red.
