Rubrics
This resource provides step-by-step instructions on 'Rubrics' and their use.
What are Rubrics
Rubrics provide a structured method for defining custom or outcome-based assessment criteria for grading. It serves as an evaluation tool that clearly outlines expectations for quality. It typically consists of rows and columns, where rows represent the assessment criteria for an assignment, and columns define different levels of performance for each criterion.
Rubrics can also be created as non-scoring, enabling assessment and outcome-based grading without assigning point values.
Course-level rubrics can be created within a course or copied from an account or sub-account. Once a rubric has been used for student assessment, it can no longer be edited. However, existing rubrics can be duplicated and applied to other assignments as needed.
You can use a Rubric to:
Convey assessment expectations to users.
Link predefined learning outcomes to course assignments and evaluations.
Evaluate online submissions efficiently using SpeedGrader.
