Canvas offers an exclusive range of tools designed to help you create, manage, and deliver your course effectively. These features can be tailored to suit your teaching needs, from course building and communication to analytics and assessment.
When you open a course in Canvas, you'll find a menu on the left-hand side of the screen. This navigation panel provides access to key course tools, including: Assignments, Discussions, Grades, Pages, Files, Rubrics, Quizzes, and Conferences, apart from the course configuration.
In this section, we will walk you through these eight core tools and introduce you to the 'Student View' feature—a helpful option that allows instructors and course builders to preview the course exactly as a student would see it.
